There are many ways to be involved with MCS. From hosting an event to organizing collection drives, there are opportunities for all! Take a look at the list below for our involvement opportunities. - Organize a luncheon/breakfast for our community donors and partners.
- Host a gathering to share the MCS mission with your circle of influence.
- Promote MCS through social media.
- Assist in organizing an MCS open house and tour.
- Serve on event committees.
- Help update and renovate our buildings.
- Solicit and thank our sponsors and donors.
- Donate or solicit auction items.
- Start a collection drive for in-kind donation lists, including:
- Art supplies for therapy
- Household items for parenting programs
- School uniforms (all sizes)
- Gift cards for kinship caregivers
- New socks and underwear (all sizes)
- Diapers and infant toys for families receiving forensic interviews and medical exams


MCS provides a full spectrum of programs serving over 12,000 children and families annually. Since its inception in 1977 as the Manatee County’s first and only emergency shelter for abused children in foster care, MCS has grown to offer programs in treatment, prevention, intervention, and residential services.
