There are many opportunities to volunteer at Manatee Children Services. We appreciate the time and effort put in by all individuals and businesses who offer their time to aid in our cause. Please complete ourvolunteer application form or call our office at (941) 345-1200 for more information.
Some of our many volunteer activities are listed below:
We can always use help with general clerical tasks such as mailings and filing. This work can be performed here at MCS or possibly at your home. A background screening may be required.
If you're a handyman type, consider lending your skills to Manatee Children Services! All basic home repair services are performed at our residential facilities. Flexible hours are available and if you have your own tools, it is helpful but not required. A background screening may be necessary as well.
Help us out with our special events; host our fundraisers; or work in our information booth. If you are a social butterfly, enjoy decorating, or love meeting new people, this is the job for you! This work is performed mostly at off-site locations, but may include some work-from-home opportunities. Hours can vary, but will usually be nights and/or weekends.
Residential Facility Volunteer
Work directly with the children in our residential facilities. You'll have the opportunity to share your special talents such as cooking, art, or tutoring the kids. All work is performed at our residential facility locations. Hours are somewhat flexible but are based on the schedules of the children. A background check is required.
We can always use assistance in soliciting donations of items needed by children in foster care or for special events. If you believe that "where there's a will, there's a way," then this job is for you! Work can be performed either by telephone in your home or by visiting area businesses. The hours are flexible.
Assist MCS by picking up items that have been donated to us from various locations. If you have the muscle, we have the need! This volunteer work may require some heavy lifting. Access to a large vehicle or truck is helpful and hours are somewhat flexible.
Do you have any other volunteer work in mind? Is your group interested in helping MCS by performing a special project? Would you like to schedule a guest speaker? If so, give us a call today at (941) 345-1200.
