SOP - Street Outreach Program
The SOP is a coordinated effort between Manatee Children’s Services and Family Resources. We have a full time Street Outreach Specialist who assists homeless young adults, ages 16 - 25, to get them connected to needed services and reduce the trauma of living transient.
There is also a part time position, and this Street Outreach Specialist spends most of her time going to homeless camps and sharing resources, for instance, food, hygiene products, and getting them connected to needed medical services.
The SOP is a free program sponsored by a federal grant and is housed at the One-Stop Center.
