Position “Twice the Charm” Thrift Shoppe Volunteers

Men and women needed to sort, price and prepare merchandise to put in shop for resale, cashiers.

Hours are Monday - Friday, 10:00 am – 4 pm

Position: Clerical (mailings, filing, general clerical)

Like to keep things organized? Come on down! Work performed at MCS location or possibly at your home (hours flexible depending on location) Background screening may be required. 

Estimated time commitment: 8 – 16 hrs. monthly.

 

Position: Maintenance (basic home repairs)

If you are the "handy man" type, we need you! Work performed at residential facilities with flexible hours. Background screening may be required. Having tools is helpful, but not necessary.

Estimated time commitment: 3 days a month.


Position: Volunteer Mentor (spending time with a child in foster care)

Have experience to share, then you and a foster child would make a great pair! Volunteer duties performed at pre-approved locations with flexible hours. Background screening and training required.

Estimated time commitment: 2 hours per week.

 

Position: Special Events (help host an MCS fundraiser, information booth, etc.)

If you are a social butterfly, like to decorate or meet new people, this job’s for you! Work performed mostly at off-site locations, but may include some work at home opportunities. Hours may vary, but will usually be nights/weekends.

Estimated time commitment: 6-10 days a year.

 

Position: Residential Facility Volunteer (work with children in residential facilities)

Share your special talents such as cooking, art or tutoring with the kids! Work performed at residential facility locations. Hours are somewhat flexible, but are based on the schedules of the children. Background check required.

Estimated time commitment: 8 hours per month.

 

Position: Donation Helper (solicit donations of items needed by children in foster care or for special events)

If your motto is "where there is a will there is a way" then this job is for you! Work can be performed either by telephone in your home or by visiting area businesses. Hours are flexible.

Estimated time commitment: 6 hours per month.

 

Position: Donation Pick-Up (pick up donated items from various locations)

If you’ve got the muscle, we’ve got the need! May require heavy lifting. Access to a large vehicle/truck helpful. Hours are somewhat flexible.

Estimated time commitment: 3-4 hours every other month.
